Supports and facilitates the operations of the Electrical Department by ensuring a safe, functional, learning environment for the continued growth of our students and University community. Assist the Electrical Services department with general electrical repairs, maintenance and installations of wiring. Provide assistance with installation, relocation, and repairs of electrical equipments and wiring. Participate in reading and interpreting blue prints, to locate and repair damage electric wiring. Provides support with the installation of new electrical fixtures and equipment's. Assist with the modification of electrical circuits in new and existing University facilities. Work in cooperation with University Facilities Development Section or outside contractual personnel when directed. Assists in the general maintenance repair tasks, replacement of ceiling tiles, and light bulbs. Provides support with special events set-up to ensure electrical systems are working properly. Performs general emergency maintenance duties connected to any and all aspects required by the Facilities Management Department. Such as, assist in hurricane protection, barricading of ditches, roads, emergency lights, broken road signs, repairing leaks on a permanent or temporary basis and other duties as required. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator. Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing.
